Sansevieria trifasciata Black Coral Mother in Law's Tongue Beginner Friendly Houseplant 70 cm
Sansevieria trifasciata Black Coral is a stunning, almost gothic, example of Mother-in-Law's Tongue, with dark green, almost black colouring and wavy horizontal bands of white-grey-green.
Snake Plants are extremely sturdy and resilient houseplants. The worst thing you can do is over-water them, they cope much better with neglect!
Please note: some scaring may occur on the leaves.
Light: Best in moderate to bright, indirect light but will adapt to low light conditions too.
Water: Allow the soil to dry out before watering, then water thoroughly and allow to drain freely. Do not allow the plant to sit in water as this will cause root rot.
Temperature: Happy anywhere from 15-23°C and as low as 10°C for short periods.
Feed: Apply a weak dose of cactus or general-purpose feed once a month at most during the growing season. Sansevieria are low maintenance plants and do not require a lot of supplementary feeding.
Air Purifying: Sansevieria filter airborne toxins and are part of our clean air plant collection.
Height and Growth Rate: Ultimate height 75-100cm. Slow growing.
Please note: It is quite common for these plants to have small nicks or scars on their leaves. This does not affect their long term health in any way.
Toxicity: Mildly toxic if eaten. Keep away from children and animals.
Origin: Tropical West African Region.
Best for Bathroom: The Snake Plant is nearly impossible to kill, making it a great, non-finicky option for the bathroom. It grows faster in bright light, but it can tolerate less light as well.
This plant is supplied in nursery pot:ϕ-17cm x h-16cm (basket from the picture not included)
