Aglaonema Spotted Star Chinese Evergreen 30 cm
Aglaonema Spotted Star grow wild in the tropical rainforests of South East Asia and make fabulous houseplants for shady forgotten corners. The 'Spotted Star' is one for the lovers of colour, it's wide broad leaves mottled with dark pinks, light reds and khaki greens.
Light: These plants will thrive in a range of lights depending on what you want from the plant. A bright, indirect light will create a more diverse range in patterns and colours on the leafs.Enjoys a spot out of direct light or in semi-shade.
Watering: Aglaonema like to dry out between waterings, so feel the soil with your finger a few inches down to ensure it isn’t moist right beneath the surface. If your plant is in a bright location, then you will want to water it when the soil is dry halfway down the root mass (if you have a taller planter, sometimes moisture can build up in the bottom of the container so keep that in mind). If you have your plant in fluorescent or lower light conditions, then it’s best to let the soil dry out almost all the way to the bottom of the pot before watering thoroughly.
Humidity: As a tropical and sub-tropical plant, the Chinese Evergreen enjoys moderate to high humidity. It will do fine in normal levels of humidity found in homes but would benefit from a light misting of water to increase humidity. You could also place your plant on a pebble tray with water on it.
Toxicity: Toxic to pets.
Origin: Native to the tropical rainforests of South East Asia.
